PLEASE READ
This site and jewels would like to state that at no time did i ever see the Cortina Nationals as a finacial gain It was and always will be only about the cars and getting all enthusiats all together in the one spot to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cortina MK1. I cannot believe after all i have done and all i have dedicated to this event since the conception in 2008 and being the person who originally had the idea of the Cortina Nationals have now being informed after the membership of CMOOC have voted that i am not a fit person to be involved. A sad day but i will accept the decision and move on.

The Story
This car I purchased many many years ago from a local historic racer less motor and box. I always had the intention of fitting a V8 to it as I always wanted to have one. It was the ideal starting point. Over the years work on it was gradually done, but because i was only ever going to fit a Windsor V8 it had created some engineering problems. Over the years there were starter motor problems fouling with steering box and exhausts. The other problem was ensuring the car had adequate cooling. This is where the project halting problems began.

The whole project halted for years and years as we couldn't find away around these problems. The car was always going to be a street car NOT a drag car, it would have been much easier to build a track car only, but that's not what I wanted so further time went by. Eventually with new developments in aftermarket parts and conversion options these problems could be overcome so that's where we are now.
